You are welcome to watch the 90-minute interview with the course founder, Tim Dutton CBE KC, on the history of the Keble Course and its national and international reputation:
Acta non verba (deeds not words)
Arrival and departure
Please arrive at Keble in good time for the first session on Tuesday 25ᵗʰ August, which begins at 11:00. If your room is not yet ready, you can store your luggage until it is. On arrival, please make your way to the O'Reilly Lecture Theatre, where the course begins at 11:00. On the final day, Saturday 29ᵗʰ August, you will need to vacate your room before the morning trials begin; luggage can be stored in the bar. The course concludes at 17:00 on the Saturday, and you cannot leave before the final session is over.
Dress
Smart-casual (non-scruffy) dress on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Formal business dress (but no robes or wigs) is required on Friday and Saturday. The dress code for the course banquet on Friday evening is evening wear (not black tie).
Meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day in Hall. Attendance is not compulsory, but most people find it an excellent way to get to know one another, the faculty and the helpers. Attendance at the Friday banquet is compulsory. The College Bar is open most evenings, and late on Friday. Please record any dietary requirements in your My Details so we can pass them to the College.
Gym
There's no gym available to delegates (the College gym is for scholars and bursars only), but there's a park a short walk away that people use for running.
Porters' Lodge
Your first stop for directions, the quickest routes in, local pubs, an Ethernet cable if you want to plug a device in directly, and an iron and ironing board.
Irons
In previous years a few members borrowed an iron and board and held on to it 'for when I need it next'. Please remember this is a student campus. There aren't 300 of them, usually one per building, so only four or five across the whole site. Do please return it promptly once you've finished, so the next person can use it.
Keys
A gentle but important one: please check out of your room before breakfast on the Saturday and hand your key back. Facilities need the keys to turn the rooms round for the next occupants; a missing key is charged at £50, and a key that travels home is a further cost. We'd far rather spend that on you than on locksmiths, so please do return it.
